The month of March sets the stage for a busy spring/summer season in Buffalo, NY, filled with multiple food events, fairs, tastings, and brewery fests. As Buffalo continues to revitalize, it is emerging as a food mecca for the entire nation.
With this in mind, many food events are kicking off this month. One of which is the March Diva’s Wine and Dine event, on March 16th, in Clarence, NY. Held at Orazio’s on Main St., this fourth year event will donate a portion of the proceeds to Buffalo’s Devastation Drill team and youth services.
Devastation Drill Team was started in 1997 by Tamara Ebo. Every week, girls and teens meet at the Edward Saunder Community Center to go over their routines that include stepping, dance and cheerleading combinations, but it’s about more than just learning routines. The 60 steppers are broken down into five different teams and each team has a captain who leads them through routines. Serving young ladies ages 4-19 years of age, these girls aspire to stay positive, become educated, live violence free and be leaders in their community. Their model is to live life with purpose, intelligence, leadership, creativity and style. These remarkable young ladies take competition to a whole other level, when it is time to compete. Each team is trained to compete with-in self and against self. It’s inspiring and watching their video left me in awe of their talent.
Dinner at Orazio’s for this event include: Appetizer- Coconut Encrusted Shrimp with Dipping Sauce.
Salad Station with: Classic Caesar, tomato basil onion, and New York style chopped salad.
Gourmet Carving Station: FiletMignon w/Black Pepper Cab Sauv Demi, Chicken and Artichoke Heart Francaise and an Herb Encrusted Pork Tenderloin.
Pasta Station: Featuring Orazio’s award winning Pasta con vodka, Tomato Basil Marinara and Classic Alfredo Sauce.
Potato Station: Chef’s Mashed White and Sweet Potatoes with 15 different toppings provided.
Dessert Station: Peanut butter pie, Cannoli’s and Raspberry Cheese Cake with coffee service.
Orazio’s has been a staple in Buffalo for over 20 years. They are known for their seafood and steaks, but serve Italian American cuisine with family style appeal.
The cost is $50.00 per person and is a great fun event. Wine is selected for the event and you can mix and mingle before dinner is served. Visit the eventful.com for more information.
